Tree Farmers Seek Year-round Income

The Wisconsin Christmas Tree Producers Association held its winter convention on January 22, reports the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel newspaper in an article by Joe Taschler.

Wisconsin has over 1300 tree farms with over 36,000 acres, and grows about 1.8 million trees every year – ranking fifth nationally. Farmers have added petting zoos with reindeer to attract visitors during the year. The article notes that Balsam firs are the most popular trees grown in Wisconsin.
