In California, Trees are Biomass Fuel


An article on the KGO-TV ABC-7 (San Francisco) website by Teresa Garcia notes that some discarded Christmas trees in that area are collected by the Waste Managment Recycling Program and burned in a biomass-fueled power plant. The Waste Management manager says that resin in the trees makes them burn “really hot,” which is good for the biomass power plant.
